My Mission (And Why This Exists)

Hello Doctor,

I’m David DeSchoolmeester—most people call me D14—and Forever Practice exists because I’ve watched too many great doctors lose the practice they dreamed of building.

For over a decade, I worked closely with doctors in the Veterans Health Administration and U.S. Army environments. I heard the same story over and over:

  • “I wanted my own practice…”

  • “I wanted to be a pillar in my community…”

  • “I wanted personalized care…”

  • “But the business side beat me.”

That’s not a character flaw.

That’s a training gap.

And it needs to be fixed.

Forever Practice has one simple mission:

Keep physician-owned practices alive and growing.

Why I Take This Personally

I know what it’s like to have your dream ripped away by something you didn’t choose.

I served 12 years in the U.S. Navy (Nuclear Power Program), and a disability ended that career early—meaning the future I trained for was suddenly stripped away from me and my family.

So when I heard doctors talking about their dream practice getting crushed by the business side of medicine…

It hit home.

Different uniforms.

Same heartbreak.

Where “D14” Came From (Yes, People Ask)

In the military, everyone calls each other by their rank and last name.

My last name is DeSchoolmeester.

That’s… not exactly “Jones.” and everyone I came in contact with had a hard time with that.

So my shipmates shortened it:

D14 (because my last name has 15 letters).

So, I’ve been D14 since 1983.

My wife even calls herself “Mrs. D14.”

AND when it came time to start a business after retiring from U.S. Federal Service, it only made sense to call it D14 Agency LLC (https://d14agency.com)
